Hermes Agent 2026.6894.803.0

Hermes Agent, developed by Nous Research, is an open-source framework for autonomous AI agents. Hermes Desktop is the native application for running those agents locally and managing workflows.

• Adaptive agents: The framework includes mechanisms for iterative self-modification and adaptive behavior, allowing agents to refine strategies and configurations over time.
• Flexible inference: Supports multiple inference providers and local on-device models, enabling deployments that prioritize either computational performance or data locality and privacy.
• Deployment options: Hermes Desktop provides a native, offline-capable experience; Nous Portal offers a cloud-oriented alternative with a broad selection of models, integrated tools, and hosted agent instances.
• Developer and user experience: Configuration and integration are aimed at developers and advanced users seeking control over model choice and tooling; the dual local/cloud approach balances autonomy with convenience.

Design choices favor modularity and choice of runtime: running models locally reduces external dependencies but requires suitable hardware, while the portal streamlines access to additional models and managed services.
